Picture-a-day has turned into picture-a-day-or-2000-words-and-let's-take-Saturdays-off. The thing about me feeling guilty is that I end up doing something or another that's productive, and that's nice.

I've been working. I still draw. Picture-a-day is thus far successful.

So I have a very deep love for type treatments and typography in general, the subtlety of letterform and art of making it. I think this is not a little-known fact about me. [If you haven't seen it already, watch Helvetica. Do it for me, darlins.]

Anyway, for my senior capstone project, I designed a serif typeface, and after eight weeks of work/migraines/blood/tears, I have 103 glyphs of one style complete.

I would like to re-establish the known fact that I am indeed a total idiot, considering I languished around for a while whining to myself that I "don't have any art to poooost baw" and was actually sitting on weeks of pchat and doodles. Sometimes I wonder how I remember to eat.

Have done a little friends-cut: if we have never really talked, fallen way out of touch, or just don't have much in common anymore, etc. Please don't take it personally, because I never mean it as a sort of insult. Passive-aggression is not how I roll.

Also, man, what is it with this town. We are built to be pleasing to visitors! Cafes, useless trinket shops, quaint little whatevers. All saccharine smiles and have-a-nice-days. And yet we attract some of the angriest old people I have ever met. Bewildering. I'm getting sick of crotchety octogenarians acting like I'm stupid.

I have so many things to do, ack. Commissions and work and commissions! I have another job, hi. ♥ Am working at a local bakery now. Guys I get tips. *_* This is a new thing for me. So there's a rambly sketchy geeky post coming soon, and I swear all you guys who need emails from me will in fact get them. Thanks for the birthday wishessss, love and love.

ANYWAY. This is the post where I stamp my foot and say that finally, Angel is done. This would be the novel-length story I wrote freshman year, am occasionally ashamed of, more occasionally in love with, and is more or less a testament to my devotion to Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead and Hamlet. Just finished my most extensive editing since it was originally complete, and it is finally up all up on the new web site.

Things that make me happy:

• People showing up out of nowhere to tell me my stupid story made their day. Goddamn, that's cool.


• Sleeping in the yard. This will be one of my favorite things until the rain stops and the grass gets gross and scratchy. The neighbors probably think I'm crazy, but oh it feels beautiful.


• Having a regular job! :D :D :D Am at the bookstore two days a week now.


• NOT BEING SICK. I AM A GIANT FAN OF NOT BEING SICK. [If I disappear for a month or so, it's generally safe to assume I've been felled by illness. I never mean to worry anyone, but getting sick makes me pretty listless, and so I just don't update.]

Alex and I have decided to start a subversive rock band. It will be called Testicles and Tree-Rape, and our first single will be called "Vaginas All Over His Body." Does that sound like instant success or what.

How that went: pretty well, all things considered. I didn't do anything weird, and all the professors acted proud of me. It was cold, which kind of sucked, but eh. After spending a collective 12 hours in a car with my professor-man, I managed to not bring up any horribly inappropriate topics like bad Harry Potter fan fiction or terrible 80's anime. I did explain Anonymous to him, though. And I solemnly apologize to everyone who lives there, but I really, really do not like South Carolina. Ugh. I am sick of that state and have had my fill of it for the next few years.

Uh, right. I do live. For right now, though, I have no internet in my room, so I'm languishing around, grumbling about that. Forgive me for being slow on catching up. I really wonder about this school, sometimes. I mean. What logic is there in making just about every important aspect of classes online, and then not...having a huge priority on keeping the network up in the dorms, even though the net works fine in the ratty-looking computer labs? Ugh. Gj resnet.

So it's been a while. I have been drawing pretty consistently, if not terribly well, but I just kind of scanned things and then forgot about them. Also my wrist went ka-blam for a few days, and uhhh. Yeah, had to take a break from my tablet. Is much better now, if a little sensitive. Have been writing. I, uh, popped into the springkink V-Day kink meme and wrote two things, but I refuse to say what they were. XD;; Also I spent a while over the weekend gathering my fan fiction from here and various memes and 'thons, and that is up on crake, more or less chronologically posted.

TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME, not_cynical. Dear god I can't believe I wrote so much for something that no one is going to know orz. But I'm not REALLY complaining, because hey now this is finally done and currently writing aggravates my wrist less than drawing, so this is a nice break.

Basically you should just watch it because then you will have seen a beautiful, badass film, and then you can read my stupid, dopey story. A short film that I turned in for my film class final last semester. It's supposed to be a pseudo-documentary about what scares people, the nature of fear, etc. After a month and a half, I finally dragged it back into AfterEffects to fix the things that made me hate it. I'm actually...happy with it, if I do say so myself.

Procrastination, rehabilitation. I have a Faustus paper to write and a book on wabi-sabi to read. I think this will conclude everything I have that can possibly distract me, though. My excuse is that my rice is cooking.

I did a picture, too, but I don't like it very much. Round-up post of everything is here. I liked a lot of things this time, though I wish we'd gotten more stuff. It's the time of year, I think. I have a few prompts that I still want to do, bad, and I will, so expect those sooner or later. My poor little Natsume Yuujinchou crossover is at about 800 words right now, I can't abandon it.

I wrote ( this girl!Kubota thing ) which I want to go back and do over, longer and playing around more, but for what it is, not bad. And I wrote ( this Wild Adapter...thing ) which is an absolute fucking train wreck, but. Oh well.

For the record, I have an approximate metric fuckton of art that's been building. I have been dumping it in a private post for safe-keeping, and now I think I'm kind of just forgetting to post it. And I'd post it now except I think I have something to add to it and I'm typing kind of drunkenly because today has been very. long. I had three rough classes, a night out with the boy, stress of almost losing my cell phone, and then Katamari Damacy and Youtube shenanigans. My social life is kind of sad, but I have fun. I am very sleepy and full of love and goodwill.

Because GUYS I HAVE HEAT AGAIN. My room is so warm. Last night I slept with my laptop charger to keep me warm [and it was SPECTACULAR] and I woke up and there was a 16-degree windchill that put the temp at -10F. D: D: D: But heat! Heat. Yummy heat, never leave me again.

Sooo yuletart is done posting. I didn't realize my picture was posted until I talked to fadedfeathers the other night, ahahah. XD;;; Turns out it was posted weeks ago. I browsed through everything that was posted and I'm pretty sure I can take a good stab at at least three artists' work [fightfair, telophase, and junemermaid], buuut I am afraid of being wrong, so we shall see. I am actually reasonably satisfied with what I drew, which is slightly anomalous.

You know what's pimp? This girl's goddamn graffiti, that's what. Fritz asked me to draw him something a while ago and I haven't gotten there, but nnngh looking at her stuff I just want to play and play and play.

I have the house to myself for 24 hours. :]
